Called to Serve- Training Pastors in Nepal for Whole Person Care

Rev. Sarju Rijal is a very devoted Nepali Pastoral educator who leads the organization Theological Education by Extension (TEEN). As a servant of Christ, he travels to great distances to provide continuous training for pastors in remote areas of Nepal.

Along with his group in Nepal Rev. Sarju had a keen interest in pastoring through counselling techniques as well as learning more about mental health. As a result of this they sought assistance for training of their pastors.

Rev. Rijal’s recent project involving a training programme for pastors included the participation of over 67 pastors.
They came together for 3 days and were engaged in activities that would edify them in areas such as whole person care, first aid and mental health. Pastors who enrolled in the programme were from different churches of Kathmandu Valley, Kavreplanchok, Kaski and Tanahun districts. They were trained by highly skilled professionals with several years of experience in their respective fields. These leaders hope to use the skills and techniques learnt in their ministries, at work and within their communities.
