Sisters Uplifted through Prayer, Healing, Empowerment and Restoration (SUPHER) is a support group aimed at helping several women both in and out of the Church find footing despite their past and present life challenges and storms.
Here are some lessons learnt from the religious group SUPHER:
Women who have been there know best
Be as self-funding as possible
Form a support group
Share your story
Assign mentors to help one another through
Have safe houses globally. Don’t assume that an abused woman who has left home is easily safe.
Provide empowerment sessions to help persons identify their worth, strengths, gift and purpose.

Here is a story of a man now 105. He provides and example of certain principles of how prayer can have a role in one’s empowerment.
Mr. Higgins shares that in his earlier years he received healing from paralysis through prayer.
1.What could have aided his empowerment in that prayer, was that it included a commitment to serving God and others for the rest of his life.
2. Also, he sought to empower others psychologically and spiritually through sharing his experience and encouraging their own faith.
3. He continued with faithfulness in his altruistic life commitments, very likely contributing to ongoing health and longevity.
